First designed in 1944 by the son of a famous Cincinnati clairvoyant, Albert Carter named his early design the "Syco-Seer." While his mom Mary could see the future and convene with the dead, the Syco-Seer was Albert's way - and one not requiring magical abilities.

Since then generations of children seeking answers to life's burning questions have turned to the Magic Eight Ball. Does s/he like me? Will I eat cake for dinner? For obvious reasons we went with "yes" as the only response, but favorites include "Without a doubt, yes!" "Reply hazy, try again." and "Don't count on it."
